Even though our film and coursework is finished we went back through our film and found one minor thing that we felt had to be changed.
There was two cases of swearing in our film in the middle which after thought we believed that it was not acceptable in our film because it might cause the viewer some dissatisfaction or offense.
To clear this swearing we muted the volume in our piece at the certain times so that no foul language could be heard but it does not cause our piece to sound jumbled up.

Review of Letter
This letter is a letter of request to the musci company which holds the rights to the song we used in our media piece.
The song we included was "Smooth Criminal" by Michael Jackson. We could not use this piece unless we had asked his music company for permission to put it in our piece. We emailed this to them and did not hear a reply so we asked our teacher what we should do and she said that it would be acceptable to use because we would not get a reply from the company and it was not copyright because we had asked opinion.

Evaluation Question 7
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
In my preliminary task I was inexperienced in using all the different elements needed to create a good film. My camera skills were poor and I did not know how to upload my film onto the computer to edit it. Also, my evaluation and coursework was not of a high standard as it was basic because I was unsure of what to do.
Now I feel that I have learnt a lot of things which have helped me improve my main task so that it was not of a similar standard to the preliminary one. I also believe that, under guidance from my teacher, I have learnt to think more technically and use my understanding of media to help relate to the audience and develop my film more.
Without learning how to use all the new technological equipment I feel that my media product would have been of a low standard and I as a person and my skills would have not progressed since the preliminary task.

Evaluation Question 6
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
Over the weeks that I have been doing my media product I have learnt many different new skills and programmes that I could use to further my ability with technology. Some of this have helped me create and develop my media piece and some of these I will use in the future to help me.
Over the past weeks I have used many programs. Some of these were: Adobe Premier Elements, Adobe Fireworks, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and the use of a digital camera. Each have been used for different purposes as they are each specified in certain aspects.
I used Fireworks quite a lot because we could not put a word document into our blog because the format does not fit. I learnt how to fit the document to size and crop certain bits so that it fitted and I could remove the bits I didn't need.
Also, my camera skills have improved due to the practise I had. I could of used a tripod to help me but decided against this as it would have been hard to use for some of the shots we wanted to do.

Evaluation Question 5
How did you attract/address your audience?
Attracting your audience is a major part of producing and distributing a film. If you don't do this then you will not be able to market your film therefore no one will know about it.
To attract our audience we made our film appealing to them and the genre and ideas in it are something we thought they would like. When we sent out our questionnaires for people to fill in we told them that we were creating a film so that if they would like to watch it then they could come to us and we would show them it and download them a copy. Also, everyone else in our media group knew we were creating a film so if they wanted to watch it then they could of come and asked us.
To address our audience we used modernistic ideas and plot. The modernistic ideas we used were about a mugging in a housing estate. This would attract young people because some of them could probably relate to this and most would not that this has happened in places in the past. We was targeting the audience by the words and actions of the characters. This helps them feel more in depth with our piece and they can understand the emotions of the characters.

Evaluation Question 4
Who would be the audience for your media product?
I believe that our target audience would be someone of a fairly young age who could relate to the themes and ideas that we are trying to get across in our piece. Someone who is different to what people's perception of an average teenager is. We thought that someone who was into rock and that type of music and someone who dressed differently and like a indie rocker would enjoy this film. This is because we thought that this would be the kind of thing that they would like to watch and enjoy because of their personal interests.
Above is a Character Profile of what I believed our target audience looked like and what they were interested in.

Evaluation Question 3
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
Major films are publicised widely so that many people become aware of the film and it is being heard of so that people will come and watch it. They do this through the distributors who make and sell copies of the films for others to watch and share. Also, they create advertising for the certain film so that it meets its target audience and has a wider range of people it can attract.
For our piece we knew that we would not be able to attract a top hollywood distributor because our film and actors was not good enough for them to be interested. Therefore we thought that someone who owned a small amateur film company or a local printing company.
They might distribute our film but it would be at a cost to us and we would not have been able to afford this due to our budget. Also, they would have distributed it for free but only if they knew for certain that we would have made a profit from our film and then they would have put a contract in place to ensure they got the money.
Another institution that might distribute our film is the Education Board. This is because it could be used in work in schools and as an example for other teachers and students to use.

Evaluation Question 2
How does your media product represent particular social groups?
Our media product is designed to reflect social and cultural activities in this country. It is mainly targeting the youth community and how life as a young person is changing.
It is about 4 young people and the struggles they are going through in their teenage lives. They are stereotypically from a poor background, therefore, have been brought up in a life of struggle and depression. They are mainly kids which some people would call "Chavs" but the two main characters who are trying to break out from this lifestyle and are attacked for doing so.
The violence which is shown in our piece is a reflection of how some people choose to live thier lives and the film helps to symbolise the social groups in our communities.

Evaluation Question 1
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
In many other films, people use very similar forms and conventions in their pieces. This is because it is a developed way of making a film and it has made some big films and interesting plots. We have decided to go against this conventional idea as we felt we could make a more gripping and exciting thing if we changed it around and went with our own ideas.
We did this by putting the ending of our film at the start so the audience could get a glimse of what is going to happen in the film without knowing the plot or anything else that has happened. This is unconventional because not many films use this format of producing as it is hard to create the rest of the film if the main ending has already been shown.
We use some conventions of modern day filming when we use some over the shoulder shots and movement in unison. These both help because it adds effect and correctness to our piece so it is not all jumbled up and messy.
We developed some of our characters from the film, 'Die Hard 4'. This is because the storyline is similar to ours and the main character, John McClane, is represented by Gavin in our film. This is because his girlfriend in the piece gets captured and he has to go and save her. This adds depth and to our piece and is similar to modern day conventions and films.

Evaluation
I am now up to the stage where we have edited all our piece and I am now able to start my evaluation of our film and the coursework that I have done so far. The Evaluation is split into seven sections and each one asks a different question on a different subject.

Editing
We have started editing our media piece and have nearly finished doing this we just need to cut out some small parts and mistakes. We have used Adome Premier Elements to do this because it offers a simple and easy way of editing our piece and making it better.
Tomorrow we have got to add sound effetcs and a soundtrack to our piece as well as adding credits and a title to our piece. This is because we feel this will help improve our piece and make it more enjoyable.

Preview of Film
Below are some screenshots of our piece whilst we are are editing it.It is three separate shots of different parts of our film and each one shows a different scene and a sneak preview of our film.
